Pagan Runes:
One of the tools that make my readings a bit different are my use of the Pagan
runes. There are several different types of runes. The most common ones being the
Celtic runes. The Pagan runes that I use are a series of 9 stones with symbols on
both sides for a total of 18 symbols. They are dropped onto an astrological wheel
where I do an overview for a period of time. Most typically for a year, but any time
period can be chosen.
These particular runes that I use (and teach classes on) are unique because they are
not sold commercially, so you cannot find them in the stores. This is an important
point because they were taught to me by a member of the original group that
created them. The agreement with which they were passed on to me was that I
would only use them to read with or to teach others. There is nothing wrong with
tools of divination being sold commercially - I buy my tarot cards - but this is simply
the agreement I made. When I teach classes on them, I make certain that everyone
knows and agrees to these terms. To my knowledge people have kept their
integrity, and the agreement has not been violated. I think it helps that most people
who would take a class on divination get the concept of karma!
I often find that people love handling the stones because they are such a great source
of energy. Some people get embarrassed because their hands get sweaty when they
hold them. I explain that’s because they are filled with lots of energy from many
years of reading with them. I love stones, and I really enjoy reading with my Pagan
runes.
Numerology:
There are different systems of numerology out there, but one of the most commonly
used in the western world is the Pythagorean system. With prior notice I can do an
entire numerological “chart”, based on your name at birth and your birth date. For
my regular readings, I just use your birth date to determine your personal year.
According to Pythagoras, we move in 9 year cycles in our life (and you are not
necessarily born on a year 1). The cycle that you are in is kind of like a weather
forecast, it’s yet another influence in your life that goes from one birthday to the
next. Personally, I like to know if it’s going to rain or if I’ll need the sunscreen!
Tarot:
I use the Rider Waite deck for my readings. The Rider deck has been around a long
time and is often used by teachers in beginning tarot classes. It is a traditional tarot
deck with 78 cards. Of all the forms of divination, the tarot is one of the most
complex. It is truly a lifetime art. I have been reading with them for over 19 years
and still continue to refine the art. Most people who work with the tarot are not true
Taroists. They are simply using the cards to trigger their clairvoyance. There is
nothing wrong with that, I simply wish to explain the difference between the casual
user and the people who are truly trained in the actual art of tarot. By the way, for
the uninitiated, it can be pronounced with either the emphasis on the first or second
symbol and the last "t" is silent. Just don’t rhyme it with carrot and you'll be fine!
Astrology:
I use western astrology in my readings. It was my love of astrology in fact that
started me on my formal training as a psychic. I want to be clear about the fact that
I would not at this time call myself an astrologer per say. I am a psychic who
combines my knowledge as a psychic with the knowledge of basic astrology for a
deeper reading of my clientele. I work almost totally with natal astrology (where the
planets were when you’re born). Astrology to me is both a great psychological tool
and another psychic gateway for me into your energy.
In my readings, I usually just take a look at your 5 “personal planets” with my
ephemeris. The 5 personal planets give a good insight into your “personality”. I also
read natal charts for individuals, couples, and even families (it’s a great gift for
families with a new baby!). I do not have a computer available during readings, so
you either need to get a chart run (they typically run $5) at Present Moment books,
or you can certainly bring yours if you have one already and I can read that (though
I prefer them to be run in Placidus rather than Koch house system). To run your
chart you need to know your date, time, and place of birth. I have been reading my
own chart for many years now and I am still finding new things!
Please understand that it is possible to "read" just about anything. I have read
symbols that were burned into a piece of paper from a candle flame! Some psychics
use no tools at all. This is often referred to as a "straight" psychic reading. One
method isn't better than another, it's simply a matter of preference. I am an
Aquarius and I like variety, so use a variety of tools. My clients seem to enjoy them
as much as I do, so it's good all the way around!
